During COVID, everyone I know (and I mean everyone) started getting into houseplants. They were a great way to pass the time, focus on the positive, and witness growth happening before our eyes. For most of us, it turned into a long-term love affair. Grabbing new exotic plants to try and keep alive, reading up about different species, and pruning them into perfection. Here are three of my favorite plant-centric businesses from Washington State!

Hemleva
Hemleva: now if you aren’t following Samantha on Instagram, honestly, what are you doing? A botanical illustrator with a cult-like following, she is creating beautiful items that anyone who loves plants will want to have. From air plants to pins, stationery and more, I’m currently loving her Plant Person Sweatshirt that is a limited edition. Hemleva is a great shop to check out when searching for that perfect stocking stuffer present this year.

Spokane Plant Farm
Spokane Plant Farm: if you know, you know. Specifically, their subscription box! Every two months the recipient will receive a 4” plant, including care instructions, sticker, and plant accessory. This is a limited program, so make sure to sign up ASAP. Beyond that, they have beautiful pots and planters, a large selection of plants, and an entire gift section. While I’d love to receive any item from their shop, this Proud Plant Addict T-shirt speaks to me!

Seattle Seed Company
Last but not least, Seattle Seed Company. Filled with goodies from DIY Terrarium Kits, a beautiful seed catalog, tools, and more – everything from Seattle Seed Company makes me want to get my hands in the dirt. If you’re shopping for someone who loves gardening, I would suggest grabbing some flower seeds, these foraged steel pruners, and these wooden plant labels.
“I hope you enjoyed this fun list of items! Make sure to check out our entire gift guide here.
