Ocean Beach Roasters and Bistro Ocean Shores, Washington Day 10 of the 100 Cups of Coffee in 100 Days Project

Ocean Beach Roaster & Bistro Building

I don’t want sand in my coffee.

I walked into Ocean Beach Roasters & Bistro (will call OBR for the rest of the article) on a Saturday morning to find a bustling place full of people who were enjoying breakfast and most importantly coffee. OBR is located on Point Brown Road NW which is the main drag in Ocean Shores. The clientele looked to be a mix of tourists and locals.  Since Ocean Shores is a very popular destination, I think seeing locals in a place is a big endorsement. OBR was well staffed for my visit and I was able to simply walk up to the counter and order my coffee. While I was standing there a brownie made eyes at me and I simply had to free it from the display case it was in. I hate it when that happens don’t you?

I was able to secure a small table and shortly I was enjoying my coffee and my brownie. When I am doing my visits, I get a bit self-conscious when I am taking my photos as I don’t want to be seen as one of those wierdos who is photographing his meals for his Instagram. I am photographing my coffee for our Instagram there is a big difference but, I still don’t want to explain every time. I was facing towards the front entrance and the coffee bar, so I had to fiddle a bit to get a decent shot of the coffee. While fiddling I accidentally bumped into the person behind me while taking my photos. It turned into a nice conversation.

Ocean Beach Roasters Coffee in a cup

Coffee and Brownie……

The coffee was their Damon Pt Dark roast and was a big bold cup of coffee. Exactly what I needed. Great bold flavor without being overly burnt tasting. The bag says it has chocolate, berry, plum, and raisin flavors. For me this is how I like my coffees. The aroma was enjoyable as well. This was a wonderful cup of coffee. The coffee was prepared in a typical shuttle coffee brewer. I expect that it would be amazing in a French Press or possibly an AeroPress.  Bonus points. The cup was huge. I felt I could swim in it. Good coffee + Big Cup = Happy Scott. Now let’s talk about the brownie shall we. Delicious. One word sums up the OBR brownie.

Delicious Brisk Business Indeed

OBR is a nicely laid out place and I think it would be a great place to grab lunch or maybe dinner when we are out at the coast checking out the beach. The seating area is open with a vaulted ceiling and it was a bit on the loud side with all of the conversations going on. The place was very crowded so it was not surprising because so many of us were there. There is a lot of light and the overall feel of the place is one of laid back enjoying the beach vibe. Exactly right for Ocean Shores. Since many of you will be visiting Ocean Shores in the future make sure you stop in to OBR to grab coffee and a bite. You will not be disappointed.
