Starting my day at J5 Coffee.
J5 Coffee in Leavenworth a nice way to start a Saturday. I was driving from the home base in Wenatchee to the West Side to visit coffee shops. I know tough job, but someone must do it. These articles don’t write themselves. I stopped at J5 just after they opened to find out that they were already busy! Seems like coffee is a thing in Leavenworth.
One nice thing about early mornings in Leavenworth I was able to find parking.
Coffee, Conversation and Chocolate.
I waited while the barista was making the drinks for the group in front of me. While waiting I was able to look around the shop. J5 Coffee is a walk-in shop but does not have any seating. The shop is very comfortable with a nice selection of coffee, brewing equipment, and various other interesting items. I think it would make a great place to stop and grab some coffee while visiting Leavenworth. While you are there you can pick up a nice gift for the coffee lover in your life. They carry Aeropress Coffee Makers….. you cannot go wrong with one of those! My go to daily coffee maker. J5 also carries some great looking chocolates, syrups, and other coffee goodies. On a side note: they have two Yama Glass Drip Towers! If you like cold brew coffee, then you must check J5 Coffee out.
Once the barista Madi finished with the other order we were able to have a quick chat about J5 Coffee and I was able to order my drip pour over! Madi explained that the coffee I was going to enjoy was roasted by J5 at their roasting facility in Cashmere. We also were chatting about the new walk up coffee window J5 Coffee just opened over on Front St. Makes it simple to get good coffee in Leavenworth. My pour over was finished and I was able to enjoy my first sip. The coffee was their Java Kayumas Taman Darar which is a Fair-Trade Rainforest Alliance coffee. It was delicious! Great aroma, with big bold flavor. I picked up hints of dark chocolate and a mild wisp of cherries. My type of coffee! Great Coffee. Check!
Summertime in Leavenworth. With Coffee of course.
I took my coffee and wandered the streets of Leavenworth for a few minutes. It was a nice morning and something about the ambiance of Leavenworth and the tastiness of the coffee that put a smile on my face. During the summer Leavenworth starts the days a bit on the sleepy side. This is great as during the evenings and during the holidays Leavenworth can be so crazy busy! The Java was cooling, and I was able to pick up new flavor notes and the coffee continued to impress.
It was soon time and I had to get on the road to head to Western Washington to sample more coffees.
