Swim The Snake 2024

Get ready to make a splash at Swim The Snake 2024! Join us at the Starbuck / Lyons Ferry Marina KOA & Lyons Ferry State Park for an epic in-person swimming and/or paddling event by kayak or paddle board.

THIS IS A FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR LOCAL YOUTH SUMMER SWIM TEAMS AND A REGIONAL NON-PROFIT. NO REFUNDS.

$35 entry fee includes t-shirt/water/snack. Sorry, no refunds FOR ANY REASON.

9:30 a.m.- 10:30a.m. > Paddlers check in @Lyons Ferry Marina near breakwater. Paddlers start paddling at 11 a.m.

9:45a.m. – 10:45a.m.>Swimmers check in @Lyons Ferry State Park. The swimmer’s start is at the Lyons Ferry State Park beach@11:30 a.m.

Participants can compete in teams; a paddler and a swimmer, or individual swimmers swim the channel between LFSP to LFM. Individual paddlers cross the river from LFM to LFSP! Event organizers encourage paddlers to join the swimmers after reaching LFSP to assist safety personnel in the river to monitor and if necessary, assist swimmers in the river. For an extra challenge if time allows, seasoned swimmers may turn around at the Marina and head back to the State Park for a round trip! (1.4 miles)

This is a non-competitive event planned for FUN and for challenging yourself to Swim and/or Paddle across the .7/mile Snake River crossing with Safety in place.

Local County Sheriffs, Coast Guard Auxiliary and volunteers will help direct river traffic and assist participants as necessary.

*You must register and pay through Eventbrite and NOT at Lyons Ferry due to no internet access once we are at the event location.

NO REFUNDS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, ACTS OF GOD, MAJOR FOREST FIRES AND HEAVY SMOKE EVENTS, etc. If weather conditions are marginal, the U.S. Coast Guard and local Sheriff River Patrols will determine if cancellation of the event is necessary. SAFETY FIRST. No refunds.
