That’s right! We’re teaming up with the incredible humans at Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust to help plant 800 trees during their annual tree planting celebration . After you register, we will send you a waiver via email. Be sure to complete it and tell them Kula sent you!
This event is organized by Mountain to Sound Greenway Trust. Kula Cloth wants to show its support for the amazing work they do by assembling a team of tree planters. Please join us on October 12th in Issaquah!

The Mountains to Sound Greenway is a National Heritage Area of 1.5 million acres here in Washington — the organization plants lots of trees, and is responsible for the stewardship of over 100 miles of forest from Seattle to Ellensburg in Eastern Washington.
Join Us for This Tree-Planting Stewardship Project in Issaquah
Date & Time: Saturday, October 12, 2024 | 9am-12pm
Location: Lower Issaquah Creek Stream and Riparian Habitat Enhancement Project
What to Expect
- Help Plant the Trees! Lots of Trees – our goal is 800 trees at the event
- Learn about in-stream restoration for salmon recovery
- See the City of Issaquah’s recently completed Large Woody Material project.
- Gain insight into future projects downstream at Lake Sammamish State Park, where the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust will launch its largest restoration project to date, focused on in-stream restoration.
MSGT aims to plant roughly 800 trees at the event this year, and volunteers will also be caging conifers and spreading mulch to help these baby trees thrive! The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon and they are providing Costco pizza with salads/sandwiches for volunteers.
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Age Restriction: Open to all ages. Participants under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
What to Bring for a Great Day:
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants (we’ll be working with tools, so no shorts!)
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes (absolutely no sandals)
- Gloves (provided)
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:
- Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
- Rain gear
- Snacks
- At least one full water bottle
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc…
Additional Information
Please follow parking directions carefully for this event. Carpool if possible as parking is limited. Once you have parked, please look for the Kula Table or for Greenway staff in orange vests and follow event signs. There will be a 10-15 minute walk to the restoration planting site so please plan ahead for the start time!
