PhotoFest: Sunset Ferry Meet Up with PENTAX and Ferries on Film

Join us for a golden hour ferry ride photowalk to Bainbridge Island and back! Ferries on Film and Ricoh-PENTAX rep Shelley Preston will be on site with Pentax 17 half-frame cameras available to borrow for the ride. It’s the perfect chance to shoot some dreamy light over the water – just bring your favorite roll of film and enjoy a relaxing evening with fellow film lovers!

WHERE TO MEET & SCHEDULE

• 7:00 pm – Meet at the Seattle Ferry Terminal Lobby
• 7:15 pm – Introduce Shelley Preston with Pentax + Film Giveaway + Mingle
• 8:10 pm – Ferry Departs Seattle to Bainbridge
• 8:55 pm – Return Ferry Departs Bainbridge back to Downtown Seattle
• 9:30 pm – Arrive back in Seattle

It’s about a 35-minute ride each way.

Please arrive at the ferry terminal early enough to buy your ferry ticket, you can also purchase a ticket online.

WALK ON

We recommend you plan to walk onto the ferry, instead of driving. The vehicle line to return could be too long to make that immediate return trip.

PARKING

There is street parking in the area and a few parking lots along the waterfront. Also, consider public transportation if that is easier for you.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Shelley Preston is a Regional Account Manager for Ricoh Imaging, the company behind the iconic Pentax brand – known for its cult-favorite GR cameras beloved by street photographers, and now, bringing film back into focus with the Pentax 17. She’s been hooked on photography since the days of one-hour photo labs and her first trusty point-and-shoot. While black and white photography will always be her first love, she still finds herself happily chasing color through every frame.

When she’s not slinging cameras or shooting film, she’s painting large abstract canvases or gaming with her spouse in Austin, Texas. They share their home with a giant goldendoodle named Roxy, who answers to many names, especially T-Rox and Dino-Dog (because, frankly, she might be part dinosaur). Shelley holds a BA from Texas Tech University and a lifetime membership in the “I Shoot Film” club.

Now in its 16th year, PhotoFest continues to exceed our wildest expectations. The three-day event includes a broad spectrum of on-location shoots, studio settings, photowalks, lectures, and product demonstrations.
