PhotoFest: Portrait Photography at Sunset with Monica Sigmon & Sony

Unleash your creativity this evening as we embark on the city with Sony Ambassadors Monica Sigmon & Reza Malayeri along with Sony representative Dan Hawk for an evening photo walk by the water of Seattle.
Models will join us as we explore the city and learn how to create shots on location in minutes using minimal gear and simple lighting. Instruction will focus on creating compelling images that pull many techniques together; posing, lighting and composition. Find key elements in your environment that will create an efficient workflow especially when photographing in time sensitive situations.

- Layers and comfy walking shoes
While all PhotoFest events are free, registration is required to attend. Due to limited capacity at each venue, entry is granted on a first-come, served basis.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Monica Sigmon is an award-winning photographer and sought-after speaker who is on a mission to revitalize family portraiture. After opening her studio in Williamsburg, Virginia in 2000, she quickly garnered a reputation for excellence and cutting-edge imagery, building a highly successful business. Her accomplishments include being a double degree recipient from the Professional Photographers of America, earning both the Photographic Craftsman and Master of Photography degrees. In 2019, Monica was awarded the prestigious Sony Alpha Female Creator-in-Residence honor. Her work has been featured numerous times in Professional Photographer magazine, on Sony Alpha Universe, and on several national podcasts. In 2021, she was named a Sony Artisans of Imagery, one of only 38 in the United States. As a keynote speaker, Monica travels the country delivering entertaining and insightful programs on marketing strategies, branding, running a luxury business, as well as hands-on workshops focused on portrait lighting and posing techniques. Her passion for the craft and business of photography makes her an engaging and influential voice in the industry.

We are excited for our annual PhotoFest full of presentations, workshops, and demonstrations from some of the most talented creative artists in their field, all FREE of charge.
Now in its 16th year, PhotoFest continues to exceed our wildest expectations. The three-day event includes a broad spectrum of on-location shoots, studio settings, photowalks, lectures, and product demonstrations. It gives a larger purpose to reconnect not only to our art, but to each other. Image-making and visual storytelling capture moments that are fleeting, but the relationships we build along the way endure.
