Museum in Mind
Join us for Museum in Mind on the second Monday of each month from 2 – 4 pm!
Whatcom Museum’s program offers an engaging experience for individuals with early-stage memory loss and their caregivers. Participants will explore the current art exhibition, engage in discussions, enjoy gentle sketching activities, and experiment with various art-making materials in the museum’s art studio.
Museum in Mind takes place in the Lightcatcher Building at Whatcom Museum, providing a supportive space for those affected by early-stage memory loss. In collaboration with the Northwest Regional Council, this program helps participants retain cognitive function while connecting with a community of people in similar circumstances.
This program offers a private, welcoming environment where all interpretations of art are valued, and participants can express their creativity, build motor skills, and have fun.

The Whatcom Museum acknowledges that we gather on the traditional territory of the Lhaq’temish – Lummi People – and the Nuxwsá7aq – Nooksack People – who have lived in the Coast Salish region from time immemorial. The Museum honors our relationship with all of our Coast Salish neighbors and our shared responsibilities to their homeland where we all reside today.
