Men in Wine Celebration Dinner

IT’S RAINING MEN!
We’re back and bringing our 3rd Annual Men in Wine Celebration Dinner to Seattle. Urban Connoisseurs’ Founder, Marcia Jones will host her signature event connecting the wine connoisseurs to the Black winemakers.
Proceeds will benefit the Black Winemakers Scholarship Fund. This fund is managed by UNCF. In 2019, Urban Connoisseurs created the Black Winemakers Scholarship Fund to serve as a financial support for Black students studying Viticulture, Enology, and/or like sciences. We have awarded 2 – $5000 scholarships each year, and this fall, we’re awarding 3 – $10,000 scholarships. This is in part from contributions from people like you who give directly to the fund and/or support our events. Our work with several HBCUs who have Agriculture programs is working! 2 of the scholarships are awarded to students attending an HBCU.
Your support of this event helps our efforts. This year, renowned Executive Chef Edouardo Jordan, JuneBaby is our cuisie creator. Edouardo is no stranger to creating wine dinners for Black winemakers. Thus far, in 2023, he has hosted 7 winemaker dinners/brunch. His SideBar (next to JuneBaby) has over 12 different wines fr om Black winemakers and brand owners.

MEET THE CHEF
Edouardo Jordan is a St. Petersburg, FL native raised on Southern food. Jordan he pays tribute to his ancestors at his Seattle restaurant, JuneBaby. Two-time James Beard winner, including Best New Restaurant, few chefs serve food like Edouardo Jordan, whose restaurant offers up soul-food staples (pulled pork, fried chicken, candied yams) while educating diners about their complex history. JuneBaby’s walls are lined with artwork featuring slaves, and its website includes an “encyclopedia” of menu ingredients that explains, for example, how corn bread became popular among slaves. If you’ve already attended a Black winemaker dinner/brunch at JuneBaby, you already know about Edouardo’s ability to taste the flavor profile in wines, and create cuisine specific dishes, and that is what excites us about this evening event!
MEET THE HOST
Once again, Urban Connoisseurs Founder, Marcia Jones, has created the Perfect Blend! The Mission of Urban Connoisseurs is the connect the Black winemakers to the wine connoisseurs. We do this primarily by creating wine events and blending the experience with some amazing chefs!
