Lathe Safety Class
The Wood Lathe Safety Class is a required class for BMS members who would like to use the wood lathe. We will go over our safety policies, emergency procedures and the safe, effective and conscientious use of our woodshop.
We will discuss
- Parts of the lathe
- Setup & tool check to be done before operation
- Safety rules
- Dust collection
- Cleanup and readying the tool for the next user.
Makerspace members can use the wood lathe for personal projects after taking this class.
This is NOT a wood working skills course, it is only focused on the safe operation of the tool in our makerspace wood shop.
