“Cops” is a 1922 American two-reel silent comedy film featuring Buster Keaton as a young man who unwittingly incurs the wrath of the entire Los Angeles Police Department during a parade, resulting in a citywide chase. The film was both written and directed by Edward F. Cline and Buster Keaton.

Sherlock Jr.

A timid projectionist (Buster Keaton) who also handles post-screening cleanup dreams of becoming a private detective. When he becomes engaged to a charming young woman, a dashing rival known as the Sheik tries to win her over by stealing her father’s pocket-watch, pawning it for an extravagant gift, and planting the pawn ticket on the projectionist to frame him. Although the projectionist struggles in reality, he heroically envisions himself as the suave and accomplished detective Sherlock Jr., solving crimes and facing danger with ease, while the girl herself proves to be adept at crime-solving.
