El miércoles 29 de enero se celebrará la apertura de El Velo Exquisito: obras por Alfredo Arreguín con una recepción privada para los miembros del Whatcom Museum.
A lo largo de una carrera que abarcó seis décadas, Alfredo Arreguín desarrolló un lenguaje visual distinto, combinando estilos cargados de emoción y decorativos que exploran temas de interconexión. Su técnica característica de recubrir composiciones con estampados que parecen encaje, se convirtió en su sello distintivo que resuena en los 13 lienzos expuestos en El velo exquisito.

On Wednesday, January 29, we will celebrate the opening of The Exquisite Veil: Works by Alfredo Arreguín with a private reception for Whatcom Museum members.
Over a career spanning six decades, Alfredo Arreguín developed a distinct visual language, blending lyrical and decorative styles that explore themes of interconnectedness. This signature technique — overlaying compositions with lace-like patterns — became his hallmark and reverberates across the 13 canvases on display in The Exquisite Veil.

The Whatcom Museum acknowledges that we gather on the traditional territory of the Lhaq’temish – Lummi People – and the Nuxwsá7aq – Nooksack People – who have lived in the Coast Salish region from time immemorial. The Museum honors our relationship with all of our Coast Salish neighbors and our shared responsibilities to their homeland where we all reside today.
