Whatcom Land Trust works with private landowners all over Whatcom County to protect vital habitat located on private property. e Stone-Schraeder Conservation Easement is located along Tenmile Creek and has an extensive mosaic of wetlands, forest, meadow and stream habitat. The landowners Thhave spent the past 40 years lovingly restoring the property to support salmon, birds, beaver, and other wildlife in the Tenmile Creek corridor. We will walk the landowner’s private trails and look for migratory songbirds and wetland birds. We will walk 1.5-2 miles, the trails may be muddy and uneven at some points.
Due to limited parking on site, we will carpool to the site. Meet at 8:30am the Barkley Haggen Parking Lot, in the Northwest Corner of the Parking Lot, near the intersection of Barkely and Woburn. It will be about a 15 minute drive to the site. For questions about the trip, contact ajeffers@northcascadesaudubon.org.
