Create your own beautiful broom this spooky season with Becka Viets of Hexagon Textile and Broom. Becka will share broom anatomy, lore, history, and a broom making demonstration. Then participants get their own broom making time where they will learn the skills to make their own unique broom.

Supplies for two brooms are included in the workshop price. Participants will need to be able to grasp, hold, turn and rotate, and maintain tension between a stick under feet and a broom in hands.

The Whatcom Museum acknowledges that we gather on the traditional territory of the Lhaq’temish – Lummi People – and the Nuxwsá7aq – Nooksack People – who have lived in the Coast Salish region from time immemorial. The Museum honors our relationship with all of our Coast Salish neighbors and our shared responsibilities to their homeland where we all reside today.
