Today we are talking Emergency Preparedness. Our guest Brian Terbush works for The State of Washington Emergency Management  Division.

Every year Washington State participates in the Great ShakeOut. On October 21, 2021 at 10:21AM you can join people across the world and participate in your own ShakeOut Drill.

Over 1 million Washington residents have registered to participate in the earthquake and tsunami drill.

In this episode you will learn why you need to:

Drop, Cover, and Hold during an earthquake.

 

 

Brian provides us with a lot of information on how earthquakes happen and how Washington State could be impacted.  We also talk volcanos as Brian is a fan of volcanos. Did you know that Washington State is home to 2 of the top 3 most monitored volcanos in the U.S?  Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier.  Can you guess the other? Listen to learn the other volcano.

While this is a serious topic and one that we all need to pay attention to. Brian does a great job of presenting information in an informative and entertaining manner.  He even puts up with my questions.....
