Best Places to Brunch with your Girlfriends

We all love brunch, right? I mean, what’s not to love?! You get to sleep in, enjoy delicious food, and cocktails are practically a requirement! After all, it’s been said that brunch without booze is just a sad, late breakfast and we couldn’t agree more! Add hanging out with your girlfriends, and you simply can’t beat it. Brunch is one of our favorite things and there are certain things we look for in a brunch spot before it can be called a favorite. Great food is a must, but so are yummy cocktails at a great value. Nobody likes paying $10 for a tiny champagne flute-worth of mimosa! Pint glass — good. Pitcher — even better! Bottomless mimosas? The best!!! Here we’re sharing with you our favorite places for brunch with your girlfriends around the South Sound.

Brunch, Explore Washington State

Hart’s Mesa in downtown Olympia is a gem! They serve up Southwest inspired dishes like Migas, huevos rancheros, and breakfast tacos that will not disappoint. Plus, their mimosas are made with fresh squeezed juice (our favorite is the fresh grapefruit!) and served in a pint glass for $7. Every table comes equipped with Trivial Pursuit so you can challenge your girls to a friendly game while you wait for your food!

Oly Rockfish Grill is where it’s at for inventive twists on classic brunch dishes, like braised lamb hash, broccoli and cheese scramble, green eggs and ham (with ham, jalapenos, and tomatillo salsa), and a variety of benedicts. The avocado and goat cheese benedict is to die for! The mimosas are tasty and come served in a champagne flute, but for only $5 we’re ok with that. If you want a little more bang for your buck, go for the bloody mary for $8 — it’s delish!

The Mouse Trap in downtown Olympia is a hidden gem for brunch; Kind of exclusive, but so worth it! Brunches are pop-ups on Sundays and reservation only with seatings at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Every week is a different chef’s menu of five small courses for $35 and we promise it just might be the best brunch you’ve ever eaten!  Drinks are separate, but only $5 for a large wine glass of mimosa or sparkling wine, along with other inventive craft cocktails. Trust us, you want to get a reservation for brunch here; so delicious and super Instagram-worthy!

The Hub in the Stadium District of Tacoma is one of our favorite spots for brunch!  The menu includes all-time favorites like biscuits and gravy, hobo hash (corned beef), and eggs benedict, but our favorite is the breakfast pizza! Plus the mimosas and bloody marys are bottomless (!!!) for only $12.  Nothing beats catching up with your girls over bottomless mimosas and breakfast pizza!

Dirty Oscar’s Annex on Tacoma’s 6th Ave might surprise you.  It doesn’t look like much from the outside and the name can leave you wondering if you really want to eat there, but once inside you’ll find out it is awesome! The atmosphere is kind of upscale bar and the food can’t be beat!  They don’t take reservations and are wildly popular so either get there early or be prepared to wait, but trust us, it is worth the wait!

The brunch menu is a foodie’s dream with dishes like the Hipster Benedict (tomato, spinach parmesan hollandaise, burrata, easy egg, habanero salt) and The Overload (fried chicken, bacon-stuffed waffle, biscuit, easy eggs, sausage gravy, more bacon).  We definitely recommend you and your girls start with the Tot Dunkers, which are house-made parmesan tots with sausage gravy to dip them in, and mimosas for the table. “Drinks All Around” for $17 gets you a bottle of champagne and orange juice for the table.  If you want to up your mimosa game, “The Motherload” for $30 gets you a bottle of champagne, orange juice, and four flavored moonshines to build the perfect custom mimosas.

Peak and Pints in the Proctor District is a spot you don’t want to miss, especially if your crew are craft beer lovers! The mountain lodge atmosphere is the perfect setting to enjoy a Northwest craft beer and a tasty breakfast sandwich with your gal pals. The brunch menu is fairly small, but it’s not the size that matters, right?! The breakfast sammies are fantastic and the ever-changing menu of craft beers is filled with local and larger brews that are sure to compliment your brunch and gossip! Not a beer lover? No worries, there’s plenty of ciders or wine to choose from too 😉

Peso’s Kitchen and Lounge on Queen Anne in Seattle offers a Mexican-inspired menu that should not be missed! The selection of different Migas (eggs and other yummy stuff scrambled with corn tortillas) alone is enough to make us want to order them all and share! You’ll also find a variety of benedicts, breakfast burritos and tacos, and more on the menu. Add in bottomless mimosas (our favorite!) for $18 or a Corona bucket for $15 and you have the recipe for a great brunch with your girlfriends!

Skillet, with several locations across Seattle, from Capitol Hill to downtown and Ballard, serves up elevated comfort food in a modern, hip diner setting. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but our favorite is the biscuits and gravy — boring classic? Not even close! Their sausage for the sausage gravy is made with bacon, so you get the best of everything — house-made biscuits smothered in delicious gravy and topped with eggs… YUM! You definitely need something to wash that tasty nosh down with and we recommend the mimosa pitcher to share with your girls; Sharing is caring after all…
